pregnancy / weeks 5 & 6

**previously scheduled post**

As of today, 2/26, I am six weeks pregnant with Baby Hudgins #2! We still haven't decided on a nickname.
symptoms
Physically I'm not really experiencing any symptoms yet, other than a few crampy days during implantation. My son is still nursing so my breasts feel about the same as they always do, although I will say that my abdomen feels more full; the exact sensation is hard to describe, but I can almost feel my organs rearranging themselves already. I have been bloated, which is normal for early pregnancy, but I haven't had any nausea or food aversions. I am extremely thirsty. My emotions have yet to be affected but I am positive I will become more irritable and weepy as the weeks progress. I don't really feel any more tired than usual. So far everything seems to be very similar to my first pregnancy!
I have no discernable bump, no cravings, and really no symptoms.
baby
As for baby, he or she now has a two-chambered beating heart and the neural tube (spinal cord) is starting to close. Tiny arm and leg buds have begun to develop, as well as the eyes and nose, although nothing really looks recognizably human yet. Baby is now about the size of a blueberry, which is big brother's favorite food.

I haven't scheduled my first prenatal appointment yet. My favorite midwives left the birth center I used previously, so I don't really want to go back. There is another birth center in a nearby city that I've considered touring, but there's also a rumor that a new birth center wing is being added to a local hospital. Thankfully I have plenty of time before I have to make any actual decisions regarding mine and baby's care!
